What you’ll do

• Learn your PM’s and team’s investing process and exchange insights, identify cross-sector themes, and debate investment ideas
• Build and refine detailed financial models, forecasts, and valuation analyses of public companies within your sector
• Conduct fundamental research on individual companies, industries, and subsectors to identify emerging risks and potential investment opportunities
• Develop and present actionable investment recommendations directly to your PM
• Attend conferences and industry events
• Build relationships with relevant sell-side analysts, salespeople, and research associates
• Embody Point72’s commitment to ethics, professionalism, integrity, and excellence—especially in partnership with our Compliance team
• Analyze and incorporate macroeconomic and industry-specific developments and trends into your research
• Take advantage of our development and analytics resources to become the best version of yourself as an investor

What’s required

• At least 5 years of experience in equity research or another relevant industry role, covering global transportation market
• Strong domain expertise in Japan consumer market
• Ability to independently source and interpret Japan‑specific market and company information, alongside strong communication skills in English
• Strong financial modeling and business analysis skills
• Passion for public markets investing
• Commitment to the highest ethical standards
